Cormed Starter Sealing Restoration Matrices Kit contains sectional contoured metal matrices, transparent preformed matrix bands, and wooden anatomic shaped wedges. Metal as a material for matrices has at least two advantages over plastic: metal matrices are thinner and harder, which makes them easier to insert into the interdental space. Also, metal is more durable and better retain its given shape during use. "Cormed-R" has been producing super-thin sectional metal matrices with a thickness of 25 microns.
Sectional translucent contour matrices are produced from high-strength lavsan with a thickness of 70 microns. They are formed in 3 planes - this is important for the reproduction of the tooth anatomy. The matrices have an ideal anatomical shape, quite strong and rigid due to technological processing. The most effective translucent contour sectional matrices Cormed when working with light materials, as they make it possible to illuminate from the side walls.
Wooden Anatomic Shaped Wedges made of hard wood (birch, maple). Wood, as a natural material, provides stability and compression, i.e. optimal fit in the interdental space. Also, the wooden wedges absorb moisture and expand. The fixing wedges are impregnated with a hemostatic compound that prevents possible gingival bleeding.
