Orthodontic Micro-implant represents a significant breakthrough in dentistry, making it easier to treat many orthodontic cases. The use of screws in orthodontics has become common and the variety of indications has also been extended, including Class II, Class III, malocclusions, opening deep bite, middle line correction, molar intrusion, and space loss, etc.
New Zygomatic Orthodontic Implant is another step forward that has been created to overcome the obstacle of soft tissue irritation. The surface of the body of the micro-implant is a half thread, half smooth. This unique structure minimizes the chance of trauma, inflammation, and discomfort of the patient.
Placing micro-implants in the retromolar area of the lower jaw or alveolar crest formation creates skeletal anchorage to achieve a predictable and effective result. Placing TADs in the mandibular shelf is a reliable form of extra-alveolar support for retracing the entire lower arch to conservatively correct Class III malocclusions without tooth extraction or orthognathic surgery.
